Volunteer Reminder Emails

When you sign up for a volunteer opportunity, the portal can email you before the shift so you don’t forget, and afterwards so you remember to log your hours. Which reminders go out, and when, is up to the club.

Two reminders may arrive:

  • A week before — “Reminder: you’re volunteering at … next week”
  • The day before — “Reminder: your volunteer shift at … is coming up”

Each has a Manage Your Signups button that opens your Volunteering page. If you can no longer make it, cancel your signup there so the spot can go to someone on the waitlist. A reminder is never sent for a shift you’ve cancelled, or after the shift has already started.

Once the opportunity ends, you may get “Reminder: log your volunteer hours for …” with a Log your hours button. It opens the Log hours dialog with the date, the shift’s hour credit, and a description such as “Volunteered at Snack Bar on June 3” already filled in — check the numbers and tap Submit Hours.

This reminder is skipped automatically if you’ve already logged hours for that shift.

Reminders go to the email address of the person who signed up. If the signup is for a family member without a login — a child on the roster, for example — the reminder goes to every login member of the family instead.
