Concessions Cart

The Concessions Cart (/checkout/concessions) is the snack-cart point of sale. It’s built for a phone or tablet at the window: big product tiles, a sticky cart at the bottom, and a full-screen confirmation before every charge.

Choosing the Customer

The sticky bar at the top has Member and Guest buttons, plus the reader picker and status badge.

• Member — search by last name or member number (e.g. Smith or 12345) and tap the family. The panel shows their Account ID, Member #, and a Card on file or No card on file badge. With Tab Mode on, it also shows their Tab balance and Cap room after sale (or Over cap by).
• Guest — optionally enter Guest email (optional, for receipt). Guests always pay on the reader.

Building the Order

Products are grouped by category tab. The first tab, Favorites, is a quick-tap list of the products you’ve marked Featured followed by the season’s top sellers, up to ten items. Type in Search items by name or SKU to filter across every category instead.

Tap a tile to add one; tiles show the price, a photo when one is set, and a Low · N or Sold out badge for tracked stock. Adding an item that would drop stock to or below its threshold shows a warning toast but never blocks the sale.

The Cart bar at the bottom expands when you add the first item or scroll to the bottom of the grid. Tap it to expand or collapse. Inside, each line has quantity controls and a remove button, followed by subtotal, tax, and total. The bar’s button reads Add items, Pick a family, or Charge $X depending on what’s missing.

Charging

1. Tap Charge $X in the cart bar
2. The full-screen Review order view lists the items, tax, total, and the Payment method that will be used:
   • Card on file — member with a saved card, Tab Mode off
   • Adds to family tab — member with a saved card, Tab Mode on
   • Save card on reader, then add to tab — member without a card, Tab Mode on
   • Tap card on reader — guest, or member without a card
3. Tap Charge $X

Reader charges show Waiting for the reader. Ask the customer to tap their card. with a Cancel action. When the tap succeeds, the Sale complete overlay shows the total, customer, items, and receipt status; tap anywhere to start the next sale. If a member tapped a new card, you’re then asked Save this card for [family]?.

Note

When a member with no card on file buys on tab, the reader first asks them to tap a card to start the tab. The card is saved, the sale is added to the tab automatically, and a toast confirms Card saved. Tab items are charged on the club’s reconciliation schedule — see Tab Mode Settings.

If a card-on-file charge is declined, the error toast offers Charge via reader to retry on the paired reader.

Receipts

Members receive an emailed receipt for every sale (subject Snack Cart receipt — $X, using the club’s cart name). Guests receive one if you entered their email. Tab sales are itemised in the family’s daily tab summary instead.

Tax

Sales tax follows Settings > Payments > Concessions Tax: either added on top of menu prices or already included in them. Individual products can carry their own rate, in which case the review screen shows a bare Sales tax line rather than a single percentage. See Products.
