Self Check-in from the App

When the club turns on self check-in, you can check your family in from the Klahaya app by holding your phone to the NFC tag at the front desk — no need to wait for staff.

Starting a check-in

There are two ways in, and both need the tag:

• Tap the tag with your phone. With the app installed, the tag opens the app straight to the check-in screen — even if the app was closed.
• Use the Check in button. It floats above the tab bar on the app’s main screens (on iOS 26 it’s the capsule above the tabs, “Check in · Scan the tag at the gate”). Tap it, then hold your phone to the tag. On Android you may need to tap Scan the tag first.

If your phone can’t read tags you’ll see “This phone can’t read tags” — check in at the front desk instead. If NFC is turned off, the app offers Open NFC settings.

Note

The Check in button only appears when the club has self check-in switched on and your account type includes check-ins. Tapping the tag without the app installed opens a page with links to install it.

Who’s checking in?

After the tag is read, the screen shows your family:

• Your family — one row per person. You are pre-selected; tap others to add them. Someone already inside shows In since (time) and can’t be selected again. If the club blocks check-in on unsigned waivers, a person showing Waiver needed can’t be selected until you use Sign now.
• Guests — type a name and tap Add, or tap a Past guests chip to re-add someone who’s been before. The header shows how many passes left you have. When guest waivers are in use, each guest shows Waiver on file or Needs a waiver · signs next.
• Where are you headed? — facility tiles (Pool, Tennis, and so on). The tag’s defaults are pre-selected; change them if you like.

The footer summarises the party (“2 members · 1 guest”) and the button reads Check in — or Continue when a guest still needs a waiver or you’re short on passes.

Guests, waivers and passes

• If a guest needs a waiver, Continue opens the waiver on your phone: “Hand your phone to (guest) to sign”. They complete the fields, type their full name and tap Sign waiver. Or tap Send it to their phone instead to show a QR code (and a Share the link instead button for a text message); the screen moves on by itself the moment they finish. See Guest waiver links.
• If you don’t have enough passes, the Guest passes screen tells you “You need N more passes” with a Buy guest passes button. Buy them, then tap Check in again.

Confirmation

On success your phone buzzes and shows You’re checked in with the tag, time, facilities and who was recorded (guests marked Guest). Tap Done. A second tap within the club’s repeat window (typically 15 minutes) counts as the same visit — nothing is recorded twice and no extra pass is used; if everyone you picked was already in, the screen says You’re already in.

Caution

The tag read is good for 10 minutes. If the button changes to Tap the tag again, hold your phone to the tag once more before checking in.

When the app sends you to the desk

Please see the front desk appears when the app can’t complete the check-in: your membership doesn’t include app check-in, your family has a hold, or your account is dues-blocked. Self check-in is off right now means the club has turned the feature off, and “That tag isn’t one of ours” means you scanned something other than the club’s tag.
