Viewing the Portal as a Member

Admins can open the member portal exactly as a member sees it, to answer “why can’t I see my lesson?” without asking for screenshots. The session is strictly read-only.

Starting

1. Open the family in Admin > Members > Families and find the person under People. The option is only offered for people who have activated their login.
2. Click View as next to their name.
3. Read the confirmation — “You’ll see the member portal exactly as … sees it. This session is read-only — you can’t submit forms or change data while impersonating. The session lasts 30 minutes and is logged.” — and click Start.

The portal reloads on the member’s Home, with a gold bar pinned to the top: Impersonating [name] (read-only, expires [time]). The expiry is shown in your own local time.

What you can and cannot do

• You can browse everything the member can: Home, lessons, registrations, hours, payments, the family roster.
• You cannot change anything. Every save, submit and purchase is blocked while the bar is showing, and the Admin panel and checkout are unavailable — attempting to open them sends you back to Home.
• Because writes are blocked, you cannot test a member flow end to end this way (registering, paying, signing a waiver). Use a real member account for that.

Ending

Click Exit impersonation on the bar. The session also ends by itself after 30 minutes. Every impersonation is logged with who started it, whom they viewed and when.

Note

Connecting an application on the API Access page is not possible while impersonating — end the session first, since connections are granted against your own admin account.
