Eligibility Rules

A team signup form has three independent gates: an age range for each player, which account types (families) can see the form, and which member types (people) can be registered on it. All three are set on the form’s configuration page under Admin → Team Signups → Configure.

Under Players:

  • Max Age with Enforce max age — on by default, so a form created today blocks players over the max age. Turn enforcement off to show the age as guidance only (“Intended for swimmers 18 years of age or younger”).
  • Min Age with Enforce min age — optional. Leave the min age at 0 for no minimum. The rule only blocks when a min age is set and enforcement is on.

Both ages are measured as of the Age Cutoff Date when league age is enabled; otherwise as of today. An enforced rule applies everywhere a player can be written: the member wizard shows “must be 18 years of age or younger as of …” and won’t advance (a restored draft is sent back to the Players step too), member and admin player edits are refused with the same message, and the team-roster CSV import errors on out-of-range rows and skips them.

Account-Type Targeting (who can see the form)

Section titled “Account-Type Targeting (who can see the form)”

Who can see this? lists every account type. Leave all unchecked to show the form to everyone. Check one or more to limit the form to families of those account types. Restricted forms:

  • Don’t appear on the member Team Signups page, and aren’t counted on the Home card
  • Show “This registration isn’t available for your account type” if reached by a direct link
  • Are rejected at submit, so a link shared between families can’t bypass the rule

Member-Type Eligibility (who can be a player)

Section titled “Member-Type Eligibility (who can be a player)”

Who can be registered as a player? lists every member type. Leave all unchecked to allow anyone. Check one or more to require every player to be a person on the family’s roster (a roster member or a login holder) with one of those member types. On a restricted form:

  • The wizard shows “Only Junior members of your family can be registered — pick them from the list below” and offers only eligible people; free-text names are disabled
  • A family with no eligible people sees an explanation and a link to Family Settings
  • Each player is linked to the roster person they were picked from, and their name and date of birth come from the roster record
  • Renaming or re-dating a linked player is refused on a restricted form; the fix is to correct the person in the family roster
